Carbon Composite Technology

Dymag use their own unique total die forming process to produce the ultimate wheel options. During the planning phase in the early 90's it became clear that existing composite manufacturing techniques were too restrictive in terms of wheel design & performance. Dymag's aim was simple - To design the perfect composite wheel & then design the process to manufacture it!.

Process development took two years & resulted in the launch of the world's first carbon fibre one-piece road approved wheels in 1994. Since that date Dymag has continued to develop & evolve this product range to maintain it's status as the pinnacle of wheel technology.

The Dymag Process is a closely guarded secret, But benefits of our unique methodology are:


Precise consolidation of the fibres to a set limit.
Dimensional stability
Dimensional accuracy (very low tollerance variation)
Total repeatability of the production cycle.

Every surface is a moulded surface unlike conventional composite manufacturing which results in a rough "bagged" side. The totally 100% moulded Dymag produces a totally uniform wheel in terms of mechanical properties & aesthetics.

 

Magnesium & Aluminium Forged Technology

Dymag has just launched a new range of forged aluminium and forged magnesium motorcycle wheels. These wheels build on existing car wheel forged programmes that Dymag undertook for specific customer programmes.

Dymag's wealth of wheel design experience coupled with the latest forging technology enables volume customers to purchase bespoked products that are tailored to their exact needs. Such programmes can be completed within very short timescales to meet the most demanding requirements.

Dymag has been manufacturing cast magnesium wheels since the company was founded in the early 70's, during 30 years of manufacturing, Dymag has produced wheels for an extremely diverse range of applications including :

Benefits of Cast Magnesium are :

Ability to cast complex shapes including hollow-spoke sections, which are very light & stiff. These are the main two performance wheel design criteria & therefore casting gives you the optimum design flexibility.

Low volume bespokes products can be produced quickly at low cost for project development & approval purposes prior to committing too high volume production. Hence customers can test and modify designs rapidly and at low risk.

Unique products in small batches can be tailored made for individual customers at minimum tooling cost.
