Started in the mid-1970s, Chippenham-based Dymag is an iconic designer and manufacturer of lightweight motorsport and supercar wheels. Many Formula 1, Indycar, Moto GP, Superbike teams and current Isle of Man TT champions have raced and won on Dymag wheels.
Our business is growing rapidly. Over the past year, we have achieved significant revenue growth, secured new investment and moved into a larger factory, not to mention collaborating on breaking a world speed record! We’re proud of what our team has achieved so far and are excited about our future.
That’s where you come in. To support us in building on our current growth, we need to strengthen our management team with the appointment of a Financial Controller, who will ensure we have efficient and robust financial and business management processes in place to enable us to navigate a challenging environment.
You will be responsible for streamlining and managing the day-to-day operations of the finance function, alongside the production of financial reporting and metrics to support senior-level decision making. You will have experience of ERP systems (ideally SAP), excellent Excel skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Being responsible for overseeing all transactional processing, your familiarity with the audit process will ensure that our record keeping is flawless, so the year-end process runs smoothly. You will also be proactive in maximising cashflow, from ensuring effective credit control procedures to reviewing day-to-day spending.
With a small team (currently one full time Accounts Administrator), you will need to be able to pivot between being hands-on with day-to-day operational tasks and managing longer term strategic projects. Building effective working relationships and developing your understanding of our operations will able you to collaborate on business improvement initiatives, supporting procurement and production engineering teams to drive down costs and improve processes to maximise efficiency.
Working as a key part of the Senior Management Team, the Financial Controller will contribute to identifying and maximising opportunities to optimise business performance and sustain growth.
You will be ambitious for both your own and the company’s development. Using your commercial skills and creativity, you’ll help us to spot new growth opportunities. In terms of your own growth, we have a track record of developing and promoting our people. As you grow in the role, you will have increasing opportunity to influence at board level.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be professionally qualified, with significant Financial Manager / Controller level experience, including exposure to a discrete manufacturing environment. Experience of leveraging R&D tax credits would also be beneficial.
This is a full-time position for 39 hours a week. Benefits include enhanced annual leave (24 days plus 8 bank holidays increasing with service), free onsite parking, eye care and pension scheme.
